Who qualifies for Caary?
Caary serves small to medium-sized Canadian businesses across a wide array of industries.
To be eligible to apply, you’ll need:
- To be registered as a corporation in Canada (excluding Quebec).
- $35,000+ average account balance in a business bank account.
- $25,000+ annual spend on a credit card.
How much does it cost?
You can apply for Caary at no charge here.
Your Caary Business Mastercard® has no annual fees and no foreign exchange (FX) fees for purchases outside of Canada.
Does Caary charge foreign transaction fees?
Nope, Caary does not charge any foreign transaction fees for purchases outside of Canada.
How do I sign up?
You can apply for Caary here. The application takes about twenty minutes to complete.
To fill out the application, you need to be an authorized signing officer for your company, and your business needs to meet our eligibility criteria found here.
Here’s the information you will be asked for in the application:

Login details for your primary business bank account.

Corporation details (corporation number, business number, date of incorporation, etc.).

Information for owners and officers of the corporation (address, date of birth, phone number, etc.).
- A selfie and pictures of a government issued ID, such as a driver’s license.
Will applying for Caary affect my personal credit score?
Applying for Caary will never affect your personal credit score, regardless of whether your application is approved or rejected.
When you apply for Caary, we assess your business credit score to determine your eligibility and limit. This will not impact your credit score.
What do you do with my data?
The information you provide to us during the application process is used to determine your eligibility and credit limit and to manage your account on an ongoing basis. Most of the information collected in the application process is mandated by Canada’s financial intelligence unit, the Financial Transactions and Reports Analysis Centre of Canada (FINTRAC).

What type of card is Caary?
What is the difference between virtual and physical cards?
When issuing a card from the admin portal, you can choose whether to issue a virtual or physical card. Both card types can be added to your mobile wallet and come with no annual fees, no foreign transaction fees and 1% cash back on all spend.
A virtual card is ready to use as soon as it’s issued. Cardmembers can find the card details in their Caary mobile app – no plastic required.
Virtual cards are ideal for online and recurring transactions (e.g., a dedicated virtual card for subscriptions or supplier payments).
A physical card will arrive at the cardmember’s mailing address within 7 to 10 business days.
Physical cards can be used at any of the millions of merchants across 200+ countries where Mastercard is accepted.
Can I add my Caary card to my digital wallet?
Yes, you can add your virtual and physical cards to your Apple Pay or Google Pay wallet for easy, on-the-go transactions!
Will my Caary card work internationally?
Caary cardholders can use their cards at any of the millions of merchants across 200+ countries where Mastercard is accepted. Plus, you won’t be charged any foreign transaction fees for purchases outside of Canada!
How can I control spend on my Caary card?
You can add daily, weekly, monthly or yearly spend limits to your virtual and physical Caary cards. This is a great way to control spend by supplier, employee, project, etc. Spend limits can be easily added or adjusted from Caary’s self-serve admin portal. You can also lock, unlock or cancel a card at any time.
How do you monitor fraud?
Caary has real-time fraud monitoring that alerts you of any unexpected transactions so that you can quickly review and approve these transactions.
Security and fraud
Is Caary secure?
At Caary, we take security and the protection of your data very seriously. We achieve this goal through a multitude of approaches:
Multi-Factor Authentication
Caary leverages automated systems to proactively prevent account takeover attempts and other malicious requests. We require all accounts to opt into multi-factor authentication and immediately verify any suspicious activity with the business owner.
Encryption
All data is transmitted with encryption-in-transit using HTTPS or similar protocols. Furthermore, all data is securely stored with encryption-at-rest using AES-256 or higher standards. Where possible within databases, we also leverage in-field encryption to protect particularly sensitive data.
Tokenization
Caary uses tokenization to protect your card and CVV numbers.
PIPEDA
We operate in compliance with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), Canada’s main federal law relating to privacy in the private sector. It covers personal information collected, used or disclosed while carrying out commercial activities.
Trusted Third Parties
When we need to leverage third parties to help provide service to you we verify that they have adopted equally stringent security protocols. Our legal officer ensures we have a comprehensive contract in place and our security team further approves any engagement.
